We make various games and ports runnable on small Linux handhelds and share them with the community. Recently I have been adding some Godot games and I'd love to include your games as well.
I know that sites such as itch.io are already distributing the files, but I like to ask for permission from the creator to make sure it is ok. You will of course be credited as the creator, and we do not need any source code or anything, just your permission to distribute.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Your games would make a great addition to these small handhelds.
I haven't looked too deep into the project and I am not familiar with those devices but it seems like a cool idea. And as long as you don't sell the games I don't mind if you redistribute them for other platforms as long as credit is given.
You need to jump very close to the wall and then while executing the double jump hold into the wall and hit the jump button again and hold it down to get a height boost. The timing is a bit tricky tho. Hope this helps, and thanks for playing :)
However, you know what I do not love? The last segment in hard mode. I spent almost an entire hour dying over and over again and it was not enjoyable. Except it was because this game is amazing
a calming therapy of platforming realism abstraction weaved through emotions of pastel powdery compassion, rainy awe, massaging sharp sweetness and quick wittery.
side note: was impressed by the scarf physics were you using affine transformations for that?
Thanks for the flowery comment. About the scarf physics, they are rather simple. It is just a trail that starts from an origin point that interpolates between two position on the y axis to give the illusion of more movement than there actually is and to avoid sharp bends.
Oh I love this so much ♥♥♥ The game was a joy to play. The moveset was simple to learn and has a lot of possibilities for what you can do with it. The art was great, the movement was clean, the music cozy, and this game was generally fun to play! The day/night cycle was pretty cool, but I feel there could be more to it in terms of gameplay. Maybe areas only accessible at certain times or a change in moveset could occur. I do like it how it is tho
Getting all the pinwheels to spin was a fun little secret I just wanted to say that :) I totally would play more ♥
You can jump -> glide to the right -> double jump to get back You probably already figured it out but I'll post this for anyone else in this situation.
The pinwheels are just an optional collectable (spinning them lights the candles in the house). There are 5 of them. Thank you for playing, glad you enjoyed it.
I am dyinggggggggg I am at the last part rn and the spike cube-thingys are so annoying (Edit: I'm still at the spikes before this message I was trying for hours. I'm still trying but god damn it's really annoying)
I'm awful at platformers but I'm so glad i stuck this one out (ending with 32 mins and 117 deaths) as the art is super cute and the controls were very tight! The end was super difficult for me but the little "I did it!" was so rewarding :)
Fun game! Got the Pinwheels and went back to start and noticed the candles were lit, but was not sure what the next step was for 100%. Reading comments it seems like that's it.
I got 3:35, which is world record as far as I know. It's a really sloppy run with a couple deaths, but it's good enough considering this only took ~20 attempts.
First, the triple jump: by rejumping really quickly after jumping once, you do another regular jump, from witch point you can go higher than usual by doing an actual double jump.
Only thing is, if I spam fast enough, it seems i can go arbitrarily high, but it's way too inconsistant for me to do anything useful with it or figure anything out about it.
Second: the glitchy walljump (named after the glitchy wallkick in Super Mario 64 which has got a similar effect). I seems that, sometimes, when walljumping while going off a wall (say by holding the other direction or simply reaching the height of the celling below), you can walljump without the opposite momentum that normally comes with a walljump. This can save a surprising amount of time when skipping the section to activate the giant windmill. I would know since I've done it accidentally on a couple of occasions.
My best guess is that you can still walljump one physics frame after going off a wall, but the game doesn't see any wall to send you backwards from, so it just doesn't.
Bonus observation: it's possible to slide off a wall without being in contact with it by holding the opposite direction for juuussstt the right amount of time. However, walljumping from this state sends you back like normal.
Finally, backwards stair climbing: with the sliding walljump, it's just barely possible to climb upside down stairs, which you could potentially use to skip the oscillating platform, saving heaps of time.
I've not done this yet as it is incredibly difficult, but i'm trying.
I knew about all of these except for the triple jump, which I'll look into since I can get it somewhat consistent. I don't think that any of these are what the developer used though, since they are so hard. After playing through the game again I didn't find any new skips, but I'll keep trying to find them
Also, should we set up a discord for this game? I don't want to clutter the comments of this game with speedrun talk.
What a fantastic run. You are better at this game than me, and I made the thing. I knew about a majority of the skips you used but it somehow took me quite by surprise that you just flew over the section in the cave. I never thought about that funnily enough. It's also great to see how much use you make of the sliding wall jump. Congrats on your time.
Do you plan on optimizing the run even further or are you satisfied for now ?
Also, I plan on optimizing this further. By skipping the cave entirely (6:55) and cleaning up the run, I think a sub-3 is juuuussssttt about possible. I'm not sure if i'm the one who's going to take it there, but the future looks bright.
Edit: looks like i found a much easier way to do it
It's quite late now, i'll pick back up the grind tomorrow with the new strat.
Hey, i love speedrunning this! can i ask for quality of life, that pressing 'F' enters full-screen mode (opposite of 'esc')? Also, a way to skip having to read the text at the beginning would be nice

Thank you. The games will just be disturbed for free on the portmaster website where you will be given credit as the creator.
Can I live stream or post this game as a live game?
(This text was translated by deepl translation)
of course go ahead
Thank you!
I like this game this is really good but how, do i do wall jump out of doupel jump?
You need to jump very close to the wall and then while executing the double jump hold into the wall and hit the jump button again and hold it down to get a height boost.
The timing is a bit tricky tho.
Hope this helps, and thanks for playing :)
thanks this helped sorry for late reply
What a delightful little game, well done. Very satisfying placement of pinwheels. :-)
Thanks for playing :D
can't get past the first wall
same :(
There is a wall jump. Just press jump while sliding down and you will be able to scale any wall.
Hope that helps :D
There is no way I actually found this game again after 3 weeks of searching the pinwheels helped alot
Such an awesome game ! Fun and absolutely beautiful
25:48 115 deaths in Hard
12:08 42 deaths in Hard, 2 skips are still possible but harder
8:57, 37 deaths
Minor critique I feel like the death animation is too long, maybe should be shorter and weightier, but other than that I enjoyed the game.
Fun game!
Just love it TvT
Thank you :D
Clearly one of the games of all time. I love it.
However, you know what I do not love? The last segment in hard mode. I spent almost an entire hour dying over and over again and it was not enjoyable. Except it was because this game is amazing
I'm currently watching the vod of the stream you did. You sure were dying a lot. :D

I like the new hard mode but after I do the triple jump at the triple jump tutorial I always hit a spike. Any tips?
I'm not sure what exactly you mean. If you could post a screenshot of where you are stuck at, I would be very happy to help.
Oh I love this so much ♥♥♥

Thank you so much for your comment :D
I'm glad you enjoyed your time with the game.
6 mins 48 seconds GG

38 min GG

Nice Game
Thank you :D
I think I soft locked myself, I can't find a way to get back to that platform after I died on top of it -.-
You can jump -> glide to the right -> double jump to get back
You probably already figured it out but I'll post this for anyone else in this situation.
just wanted to say, I beat it in 69 deaths. 10/10
Amazing game! Responsive, aesthetic and the difficulty is perfect.
Good work!
amazing mechanics and art
Balloon Snowman
I beat the game in 2:29, which is world record!
this game was actually pretty fun and i'm glad i found this! i beat the game in 17min and 28 deaths. btw what are the pin wheels for i found 4?
The pinwheels are just an optional collectable (spinning them lights the candles in the house). There are 5 of them.
Thank you for playing, glad you enjoyed it.
Challenging, but rewarding. A fun little solid platformer
That was fun, little difficult at the floating part, but that's alright
I found 5 pinwheels. Two on the left, one at the bottom, one on the right, and one at the top.
I am dyinggggggggg I am at the last part rn and the spike cube-thingys are so annoying (Edit: I'm still at the spikes before this message I was trying for hours. I'm still trying but god damn it's really annoying)

And Congrats on sticking through to the end.
Controls are tight and responsive, very nice!!!
Clicked here at random, and wow, this made my day !
Great litle music, level disign and game feel realy well done,
so cute graphics, collection and speedrun content.
a "Bang" that has frustrated me (in the good way) for the last part of the tower !
This game is realy cool , great job !!!
Thank you so much :D
Fun game! Got the Pinwheels and went back to start and noticed the candles were lit, but was not sure what the next step was for 100%. Reading comments it seems like that's it.
jup getting the candles is all you need for 100% for now.
I got 3:35, which is world record as far as I know. It's a really sloppy run with a couple deaths, but it's good enough considering this only took ~20 attempts.
If I decide to improve this I might try and get the game on speedrun.com
This might be a problem
just link the itch.io page lol, the game doesn't need a wikipedia article
Congrats, dude!
I just tried to do a speedrun myself including all the skips you guys found (and some you didn't find) just for fun to see how I could do.
Which skips didn't we find? Also GG on the sub-4!
I think it would be more fun if I didn't tell you since that would be unfair since I'm the developer.
But if you insist, I can give you a hint.
I don't think it would be unfair at all. I'd like a hint if you won't tell
I have an inkling of what you're talking about.
First, the triple jump: by rejumping really quickly after jumping once, you do another regular jump, from witch point you can go higher than usual by doing an actual double jump.

This game is incredibly broken, please don't fix it, details soon.
Edit: as promised:

Oh I think sub 3 is absolutely possible considering there are still some skips and tech you haven't figured out yet ;)

I just updated the game. I implemented all the features you asked for as well as a timer and death counter on top of that.
Also thank you for speedrunning the game. If you get a time you are happy with I would love to see the run :D
Thanks, that's awesome (: I didn't record it, but I managed to get Sub 5!!
I'll see if I can record myself or if it impacts the pc performance too much. <3
Thanks for the nice game. I have reach the top of the tower.
it feels like we should active The red windmills. does anyone know how many red windmills are in the game?
There are five of them. They aren't required though and only light up the candles in the house.
Thank you for playing :D
took me two days to finish but so glad i did this game is so adorable and fun
Thank you :D
Congrats
